Just when I thought my years of blogging on Xanga were over...It looks as if I've upgraded. When Hope students go abroad, they all make Facebook groups announcing their departure as well as a link to their blog, which they post three times while they're gone. I told myself I wouldn't fall into the same trap, but the fact is I need to record my memories, because I already know through experience I'm bound to forget names, dates, places, etc. with time. This experience is too awesome to forget.
For those who have no idea what the hell I'm talking about, I'm leaving in 06 days for Liverpool, England, to complete my student teaching. I will be gone for 15 weeks, 12 of those working and 03 of those playing. After bouts of slight depression, anxiety, and my nerves getting the best of me, I can finally say I am stoked. Living in England has been a dream of mine for several years now. My senior year of high school I did a 10-day, 04-city tour with about 30 classmates, and I knew I had to return. I tried to do a semester abroad in Fall 2007, but it just wasn't in the cards for me. When I had a second chance to live and work in England, however, I knew I couldn't pass this opportunity up. That leaves me with here and now. No, I have not packed yet (I'll do that the night before), and no, I don't know what to expect, which only makes it even more thrilling. The best is yet to come.
In terms of posting, I'm not making any promises. I imagine there will be weekly posts at least, but again, I won't know until I develop my routine. Only time will tell.
